“Shoo-Bop (Bitch)” Tanzer feat Rockie Brown
“Shoo-Bop [Bitch]” is a song by American songwriter and producer Tanzer, featuring singer/rapper Rockie Brown. Lyrically, “Shoo-Bop [Bitch]” explores the sexual side of Brown’s psyche, controlling behavior and how empowering it is to be a woman “Don’t be a Fraidy cat, I get away with everything/Just give it straight cause you know you wanna ahh ahh,“ Rockie asserts in the verse, “I may say yes, I may say no, maybe I’ll phone a friend/But it don’t matter cuz you’ll still be my bitch in the end. Musically, “Shoo-Bop [Bitch]” features a spoken bridge, a full-throated chorus, breathy spellings and layers of operatic harmonies. The song it draws from German techno, house as well as modern pop with a hint of opera.
The song will be released on May 27, 2015 and it will be available on iTunes, Amazon Music and everywhere else you can digitally buy music. Mixing credits go to Tanzer’s longtime friend and Juno Award recipient Dan Brodbeck, who won the 2010 Recording Engineer of the Year title for his work on the songs “Apple of My Eye” and “Be Careful” from Dolores O’Riordan’s album No Baggage.
